Quintos System

pressurized control cabinet with Quintex purge systemThe explosion protection by pressurized system is realized by using the non-explosion devices in a overpressurized housing (p ex-housing). This housing by a permanent pressure with air or inert gas keeps away a potential explosive atmosphere. Depending on the application and existing explosion protection zone, before using the devices or controlsystems the housing must be flushed. This will ensure that a possibly in the housing existing explosible atmosphere will be removed.

Depending on the application and the existing atmosphere (gas or dust), at a start-up of the cabinet QUINTOS Exp will be flushed.

After this flushing phase the housing is closed and only as much flushing gas launched in the QUINTOS that a minimum pressure of the atmosphere is maintained. This pressure is between  2.5 to 3.5 mbar.

In  zone 1 and 21 is the control unit QUINTOC 1. It works with a digital valve and a proportional.
There are three standard temperature sensors.
It may also be used with another approved control device to Zone 1 or 21.

In zone 2 and 22 yopu can use the control unit QUINTOC 2. This can work with a digital valve.
There are also three temperature sensors.

Start Up

test report Ex p for Quintoc controller

It is imperative that the documentation of the control unit is added to the Quintos test report
With these two protocols the test procedure and the individual setting of the parameters are clear proved .
It is important before the initial start-up that some key points are reviewed to ensure a smooth operation for example, :

-- Are all cable glands locked
-- Is the cover of the 'pre-switch' closed
-- Is the cover of the control unit mounted
-- Is the key for the bypass switch off
-- Is the pressure gauge withina value of 2.5 bar

Are all these checked, the doors closed and the control cabinet can be filled with compressed air or inert (not explosible, such as nitrogen) gas. The built-in valve opens and the pressure increases. The pre-setted flush time passes by, monitored by the control unit.
After the flushing phase, the 'pre-switch added and automatically switches the power supply.
Inside the QUINTOS Exp cabinet is a transitional pressure and temperature settings can be found via the control unit.
