Trace heating design
The calculation of heat losses is done with the following formula:
Qv= (2 * Pi * lambda * (Th - Tmin)) / (ln * (D/d))

Attention: Not all wrong
entries will be corrected automatically
The default value
are validated for calculations within Europe and usable upto a wind speed
of 5m/s (18km/h; Beaufaut No.3).The thermal conductivity of 0,052W/mK is
based on mineralwool,
change this value if you want to use other insulation material, please (e.g.:
PU-foam 0,028W/mK)
Please take care that you use
the point instead of a comma otherweise you will see NaN as a result
A
hint for a suitable insualtion thickness is: Thickness of insualtin approx.
as thick as the pipe diameter.(e.g.: DN 50-> 50mm insulation thickness
Please
take care to the temperature dependence of insulationmaterial (especially
for hight temperatures)
